Cancun Hotel Zone
Shaped like the No. 7, Cancun Island encompasses Cancun’s Zona Hotelera (hotel zone), which features world-class resorts, immense shopping and entertainment complexes, watersports facilities, marinas, water parks and Mayan ruins all nestled along 14 miles of beautiful white-sand beaches. Many all-inclusive resorts can be found along the Cancun Hotel Zone, most of which cover meals, drinks, live entertainment, tips and onsite recreational activities all for one room price and without hidden costs.

Downtown Cancun
Downtown Cancun, or El Centro, lies just 10 to 20 minutes from the Cancun Hotel Zone and offers a variety of affordable hotels, quality restaurants, shopping opportunities and eclectic attractions such as bullfighting, which takes place Wednesday afternoons at The Plaza de Toros. Most of the specialty shops and eateries can be found along downtown Cancun’s main drag, Avenida Tulum.

Cancun Dining
Cancun boasts a variety of world-class dining establishments, most of which can be found along the famous Cancun Hotel Zone on Cancun Island such as Blue Bayou, Club Grill, Plantation House, Hacienda El Mortero, Captain’s Cove, Bogart’s, Cambalache, La Casa de las, La Dolce Vita and Arrecifes, among others. Many of these trendy eateries serve eclectic variations on both Mexican and international cuisine, as well as fresh seafood. Downtown Cancun is also home to several quality restaurants.

Cancun Golf
With nearly a dozen championship golf courses in the Cancun area, a round of golf is available for every skill level and budget. One of Cancun’s most prestigious golf courses, Cancun Golf Club at Pok-Ta-Pok, was designed by legendary golf course architect Robert Trent Jones Jr. in 1976.

Mayan Ruins
In addition to white-sand beaches and world-class resorts, Cancun provides convenient access to several famous Mayan ruins, one of which, El Rey, lies within the Cancun Hotel Zone itself. One of the most popular Mayan archaeological sites, Chichen Itza, lies 111 miles West of Cancun but is well worth a visit. Other interesting Mayan ruins near Cancun include the spectacular, oceanfront Tulum ruins, which are located 78 miles South of Cancun; El Meco, which lies approximately 3 miles North of Cancun on the road to Punta Sam; and Yamil Lu’um, a small oceanfront Mayan ruin perched atop Cancun’s highest hill.

Cancun Nightlife
Party all night long at the myriad of trendy nightclubs and bars that can be found throughout the Cancun area, especially along the world-famous Cancun Hotel Zone. Many of these lively hotspots offer dazzling lights, state-of-the-art sound and videos, great special effects, live bands, unique drink specialties, top DJ’s and a wide range of musical styles, including salsa, Caribbean, disco, techno, hip-hop, jazz, rock and electronic.
